- Current PRJ custody or a recent release window: use the official PRJ Offender Lookup or call the jail's main line. The search is for PRJ custody, not a permanent county archive.
- PRJ booking or intake record: contact PRJ Records at extension 732. For an adult record request, be specific about the person, approximate date, and record sought.
- Sheriff report or county enforcement matter: contact the Sheriff's Office. Its record may be separate from the jail's booking file.
- County FOIA request: the County's online request form supports a specific request. Virginia FOIA normally uses a five-working-day response framework and permits actual-cost charges. Ask the receiving office to direct the request to the custodian if it does not hold the record.
- State custody or supervision: use the VADOC Inmate & Supervisee Locator. It is limited to the state-custody and supervision population, not every Cumberland arrest.
